Shaving: Shaving is a quick and inexpensive method of hair removal, however, it has to be repeated frequently and the result may last only from 1-3 days. There is also the concern of nicks and cuts. Temporary Results
Tweezing: Tweezing is time consuming, painful and can cause ingrown hairs which can become not only painful but unbecoming. A slight stinging or pricking sensation is often felt with tweezing and red bumps may appear due to the swollen hair follicles but that usually disappears after a few hours. Tweezing also creates distortions to the hair follicles. Temporary Results
Waxing: Waxing hair removal is a wax combination spread thinkly over the skin. A cloth strip is pressed on the top of the wax and then ripped off with a quick movement removing the wax along with the hair and dead skin cells. The waxing action does cause the skin to sting and some individuals find the skin reacts with redness and bumps which disappear a few hours after the waxing. Some physicians do not recommend waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more prone to infection. Care must be taken to insure the wax being used is sterile as well as the applicators. Temporary Results
