Dipilatories - Hair Inhibitors - Electrolysis
Dipilatories: A depilatory hair removal product generally contains chemicals very acidic to break down the protein structure of hair. They get down into the pores of the skin and into the hair follicle removing the hair below the surface of the skin so it takes some days or even weeks to grow back depending upon the individual's rate of hair growth and texture of the hair. It is an inexpensive method of hair removal, however, it may not be suitable for everyone due to skin sensitivity and should never been used on open cuts or abrasions. Hair that is dark and coarse appears to be more resistant to a chemical depilatory than hair that is light and fine. It is a messy application, unpleasant odor and results vary widely. Hair Inhibitors: Most over the counter (OTC) hair inhibitors do not work once application has stopped. Some prescription drugs such as Vaniqa, again work as long as it is applied. Once application ends the hair growth returns. Some doctors and dermatologists have refrained from giving prescriptions for the cream because of the results not to mention that it is a drug. And, drugs often have some adverse effect on the body. Temporary Results
